CycloMesa Bicycle Festival returns to Mesa Saturday

Posted

April is Valley Bike Month, and Mesa is recognizing it by hosting one of the largest bicycle festivals in the state.

CycloMesa Bicycle Festival returns Saturday, April 2, with a free festival celebrating the fun of bicycling for all ages, according to a release.

It will take place in downtown Mesa from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the intersection of Robson and First Avenue and an adjacent parking lot.

Festival-goers can watch BMX Freestyle stunt shows, ride on a giant 80-foot-long rattlesnake and giant butterfly bicycles provided by Austin Bike Zoo and engage with interactive art led by local-artist Kyllan Maney.

Attendees can also participate in bicycle safety presentations, listen to live music from People Who Could Fly and Chuck E. Baby & the AllStars and enjoy food trucks. Special kids programming includes a bike rodeo, giant inflatables and games.

Local artist Kyllan Maney, Austin Bike Zoo members, cycling enthusiasts and city of Mesa employees involved with the Bike and Pedestrian Program will be available for interviews before and during the CycloMesa Bicycle Festival.
