Phoenix turns up the heat for Hatch chile season

Chelsea’s Kitchen celebrates a decade of roasting world-famous New Mexico green chiles with its annual festival in September

The countdown is on to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Chelsea’s Kitchen Hatch New Mexico Green Chile Festival.

Hatch, New Mexico, has long been considered the Chile Capital of the World, and a press release notes that more recently it’s taken on a reputation as “The Napa Valley” for green chile growing by the international culinary community. Hatch provides a miroclimate that produces a meaty texture, mild complex heat, and flavor notes found only in that part of New Mexico.

Partnering with grower Young Guns Produce, from Hatch, the Chelsea’s Kitchen team will roast fresh green chiles to order. Chelsea’s notes that the green chiles “freeze perfectly” to later add to eggs, burgers, or cheese crisps all year long.
