PHOENIX — A pair of planning and zoning consent agenda items are set to be heard by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors on Wednesday.
A preschool in the Litchfield Park area seeks an increase in the number of students permitted on site, while landowners of a New River-area property seek rezoning for a boat and RV storage facility.
Wednesday’s meeting is set for 9:30 a.m. at a county building in downtown Phoenix.

Robert Pearson of Burris & MacOmber PLLC, is requesting modifications of an existing special-use permit for Imagination Childcare and Preschool, located off of Dysart Road, north of Camelback Road.
The center’s operators want to increase the number of permitted students from 64 to 82 and to extend duration of the permit by 20 years.
If approved, the permit for the 5,240-square-foot facility would be extended through Jan. 12, 2042.
Anthem RV & Boat Storage would be located about 750 feet from the southeast corner of 43rd Avenue and Circle Mountain Road in the New River area. The owner seeks a zoning change of the 3-acre lot from Rural-43 to C-3 (Commercial Plan of Development).
Also on Wednesday’s agenda is a rule change amendment for group homes.
All three items were approved unanimously by the county’s Planning and Zoning Commission at its Dec. 9 meeting.
Another item on Wednesday’s agenda is an extension of the county’s $100 incentive for its 13,000 employees to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Employees would have until the close of business on April 6 to submit proof of vaccination.
There are several amendments to agreements with various organizations and agencies regarding homeless shelter services.
Another item set for Wednesday’s meeting is an intergovernmental agreement for improvements to the intersection of Sossman and Germann roads. The county is proposing kicking in $500,000 for the design phase only; the city of Mesa and town of Queen Creek will split the rest of the design costs.
There is also a $107,000 change order request for HDR Engineering’s design work taking place on the Gilbert Road bridge over the Salt River.
