Car hits, kills woman in weekend crash

A fatal collision Saturday in north Phoenix is being investigated after a car struck and killed a pedestrian.   

At about 5:42 p.m. Nov. 30, officers responded to the collision near 13000 North Cave Creek Road. When officers arrived, they found an woman pedestrian suffering from serious injuries. She was taken to a hospital where she died, police said.

Detectives took over the investigation and said they learned the woman was crossing Cave Creek Road outside any marked crosswalks when she was struck by car traveling south on Cave Creek.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.
