Indoor dry slide park Slick City Action Park opens its doors in Queen Creek on Saturday.
The franchise-operated park opens at 10 a.m. at 7225 S. Power Road. There are Slick City Action Parks in Chandler and Peoria, and another will be opening in Scottsdale in March.
Slick City Action Park features 10 to 15 dry slides, a Sport Air Court and a Junior Jungle designed for kids under 45 inches tall.
For people people ages 4 and up, the cost for 90 minutes is $25.99 per person and $30.99 for two hours. Tickets for children 3 and under start at $13.99.
Along with being open to individuals and families, the park is also available for parties, corporate events and fundraisers.
“The growth of Slick City in Arizona has been incredible and we can’t wait to bring it to the quickly growing Queen Creek community,” stated franchise owner Wade Stooks in a press release. “This location offers an exciting new entertainment option for families and groups in the East Valley, while also revitalizing a commercial space that was underutilized.”
The Queen Creek location will be one of Slick City’s largest to date, according to the release. It takes over the former Esporta Fitness building.
All Slick City Action Parks repurpose second or third-generation commercial spaces, bringing new businesses into properties that once served as industrial and flex locations, mall anchors, grocery stores, fitness centers and family entertainment venues.
Both new parks are part of the brand’s $12 million investment in Arizona, contributing to Slick City’s $20 million in estimated annual revenue, the released continued.
“The Scottsdale location is a testament to our commitment to creating fun, dynamic spaces that revitalize older real estate,” Bron Launsby, founder and CEO of Slick City Action Parks, stated in the release. “It’s in a prime and fitting location, as the newest addition to the Talking Stick Entertainment District, and we’re confident it will bring an innovative new experience to Scottsdale.”
The company’s manufacturing arm, Slick Slide LLC, was founded by Arizona resident, Gary Schmidt, and is based in Phoenix.
Nationally, the brand anticipates 10 corporate openings and 15- to 20-franchise openings in 2025. Currently, Slick City occupies more than 1.2 million square feet of real estate nationwide, with 240,000 square feet located in Arizona by year’s end.
“The economic impact of Slick City also is substantial. In 2024 alone, the company hired 650 employees nationally and expects to employ 450 individuals in Arizona by the end of the year,” the release continued. “Many of these positions provide first-time job opportunities, offering employees both valuable life and job skills.”
Individual tickets for 90- or 120-minute sessions can be purchased online or onsite.
