Queen Creek will be holding its state-of-the town presentation later this month and residents who attend will be able to get a sneak peek at the new Recreation & Aquatic Center at Frontier Family Park.

The presentation will take place at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 22343 E. Ryan Road.

Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley and members of the town will look back on last year’s accomplishments, as well as previews for the new year.

Those interested in attending the state of the town  must RSVP at https://queencreekchamber.com/events/state-of-the-town/.

The Recreation & Aquatic Center officially opens on Saturday, March 29.

The center’s grand opening celebration will include tours, demonstrations, sports challenges, games, cookie decorating and more. The event runs from 8 to 10 a.m., with the ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place from 7:30 to 8 a.m.

The center has an indoor recreation center with various sport courts such as basketball, volleyball and pickleball. It also has a fitness area, teen room, childcare and classrooms.

The aquatic center features a 500-foot lazy river, a play-pool area, an eight-lane competition pool and four water slides.

Queen Creek began construction on the center in May 2023.

The center is part of an approximately $160 million project that also included the construction of Frontier Family Park and the Mansel Carter Oasis Park expansion. The project was approved by the Queen Creek Town Council in December 2021.

Frontier Family Park opened in June and the 13-acre expansion of Mansel Carter Oasis Park opened in July.
