Queen Creek hiring lifeguards for aquatic center

The opening of the Recreation & Aquatic Center at Frontier Family Park is still a few months away, but the town is already looking to hire lifeguards.

No prior certification is required with the town offering training to the successful applicants.

Requirements to be considered for a lifeguard position are:

  • Aged 15 by the time of hire.
  • Ability to swim four pool lengths, tread water and dive to the bottom of a 13-foot pool.

An application is required prior to being interviewed at the hiring event taking place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25.

Qualified applicants will receive an email with details on how to schedule their interview and information about the hiring event. Apply at www.QueenCreekAZ.gov/RecJobs.

The grand opening of the Recreation & Aquatic Center at Frontier Family Park is set for 8-10 a.m., Saturday, March 29 at 22343 E. Ryan Road. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place from 7:30 to 8 a.m.

The celebration will include tours, demonstrations, sports challenges, games, cookie decorating and more, according to the town.

Queen Creek began construction on the center in May 2023. The center will include an indoor recreation center with various sport courts such as basketball, volleyball and pickleball. It will also have a fitness area, teen room, childcare and classrooms.

Some of the aquatic center features include:

  • A 500-foot lazy river for swimmers of all ages and abilities
  • A play pool area with a splash playground, shallow water with a beach entry and lots of places to sit.
  • An eight-lane, 25-yard competition pool with diving boards for more experienced swimmers.
  • Four water slides, including a slide tower with two racing slides.

The center will also have ramadas, a picnic patio and a spray pad for the little ones.
