In a new turn of events, the Peoria Unified School District will not attempt to put a bond on the 2022 ballot in order to fund important projects including a new high school to alleviate overcrowding in the northern part of the city, among other needed improvements throughout the district.
Instead the district will spend the next year cultivating voters to support a bond in 2023.
This year’s bond advisory committee voted 5-4, recommending the governing board not call for a bond election on the Nov. 8 ballot.
