Nikki’s Next Step, a new inclusive housing community designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, officially launched an $8 million capital campaign in late May to help bring the transformative Glendale project to life.
Developed by Phoenix-based nonprofit One Step Beyond Inc., Nikki’s Next Step will provide long-term housing and supportive community living for adults with IDD. The project addresses a growing need facing families across Arizona: the severe shortage of affordable housing options that offer both independence and on-site support services.
Located at 6612 W. Paradise Lane in Glendale, the community will feature one- and two-bedroom condominiums designed to foster independence, social connection and security for residents. Construction of the 57 housing units is expected to begin in late 2026, with the community opening in early 2028.
