For two decades, Friends of the Peoria Public Library has helped bring learning, discovery and connection to the community.
The Peoria City Council recognized the group’s 20+ years of supporting Peoria’s libraries through fundraising, educational programs and community outreach at their public meeting Oct. 20.
To mark the occasion, the Friends presented the city with two framed copies of artwork by The Family Circus cartoonist Bil Keane, one for each Peoria library. The art shows a young boy entering a library filled with books and imagination, the artwork celebrates the possibilities waiting inside.
