A long awaited left-turn lane in north Peoria leading into Liberty High School opened today.
The new infrastructure allowing for a left turn off Lake Pleasant Parkway and Speckled Gecko Drive is a welcome addition to the area, which will aim to make access to the school more efficient as the first day of school approaches, city officials said.
The intersections at both Williams Drive and Deer Valley Road along Lake Pleasant Parkway had historically gotten backed up during high-traffic school hours, and should relieve some of the bottleneck.
