The Vitalant mobile bloodmobile is available from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20 through Tuesday, Dec. 23. It will be parked on the north side of the mall near AMC Theatres.
Each day, Vitalant needs 600 donors to maintain the blood supply requirements of hospitals across Arizona. Arrowhead Towne Center is helping meet this demand for the holidays.
All donors who participate in the blood drive at the mall will receive a $10 Pickleman's Gourmet Café gift card. Also, all donors during December are automatically entered for a chance to win $20,000. For information visit vitalant.org/giveaway.
People do not need to know their blood type to donate blood, and there is a critical need for all blood donors of all blood types in Arizona. The blood drive at Arrowhead Towne Center will offer appointments for common whole blood donations as well as power red donations, in which donors give two units of red blood cells in a single session.
After donating, participants can relax in the recovery area.
“As a social and retail hub, we are committed to giving back in numerous ways, and engaging local residents through a blood drive is an especially impactful way to support the community,” stated Rachel Olish, senior marketing manager at Arrowhead Towne Center, in a press release. “Hosting regular blood drives provides shoppers, retailers and others in the community a convenient opportunity to participate in an important, potentially lifesaving, effort.”
