An industrial development is planned on 1.9 acres west of Ellsworth Road on the south side of Pecos Road in Mesa.
The site plan and design were approved Aug. 9 by the Mesa Design Review Board.
A two-building industrial development is planned at the entrance to Gateway Airport Commerce Park, Staff Planner Jennifer Merrill said at board meeting.
“The two buildings are 12,317 square feet and 14,923 square feet. Each of the buildings has 10 individual suites. The buildings front onto a drive aisle and there are overhead doors that are also on the fronts of the buildings that face the drive aisle,” she said.
Ian Mulich of Pinnacle Design Inc. is the applicant. Olympus Development & Investments LLC is the owner.
The approximately 27,240-square-foot small bay industrial office and warehouse space will be known as Olympus Gateway, according to a written project narrative.
“The proposed development consists of two buildings — a northern building of approximately 15,000 square feet along Pecos Road and a southern building of approximately 12,000 square feet that runs along Waltham Avenue,” it states. “Each building has 10 suites of varying size. Each suite has a private entrance with small office space and partial glass sectional doors to a larger warehouse space. The partial glass sectional doors are interior to the site and not visible from the adjacent roadways.”
The all-volunteer Mesa Design Review Board is unique in that its composition is set by the zoning ordinance to include two architects; two from other design professions such as landscape architecture, engineering, urban planning, interior design or other design-related background; one contractor or developer; and two residents, according to the city’s website.
