The Mesa Planning and Zoning board voted 6-0 on July 9 to recommend the Mesa City Council amend a site plan for a planned 29-unit development.
Board member Genessee Montes was absent.
The development in question is Sienna Ridge, which is north of Broadway Road on the west side of 90th Street.
The proposed amendment would modify an existing Planned Area Development overlay for Sienna Ridge by reducing the minimum size for two-car garages. The request was made by Jason Sanks on behalf of site owner 5228 S. Blackstone LLC.
The proposed reduction would change the minimum dimensions of a two-car garage from 20 feet wide and 22 feet long to 19 feet 11 inches wide and 20 feet long.
The seven-member Planning and Zoning Board conducts hearings and makes recommendations to the city council on requests for changes in zoning and on required site plans. It also considers and recommends changes in the city’s long-range plans and in the municipal code concerning planning and zoning matters. Members are appointed for staggered terms of three years.
