The Mesa City Council voted 7-0 to approve a 33-month cooperative term contract that will provide janitorial and sanitation supplies for multiple city departments at their recent meeting.
The $350,000-per-year contract with Waxie Sanitary Supply will help provide additional janitorial and sanitation products for daily maintenance operations, according to council documents.
“The Materials and Supply Warehouse, Arts and Culture, Facilities Management, and Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Departments require a broad supply of janitorial and sanitation products to support daily maintenance operations,” the council documents stated. “Supplies include sanitizing and disinfecting cleaners, waste receptacles, paper products including paper towels, cups and napkins, brooms, brushes and handles, latex gloves, etc. This contract will be used to purchase those items.”
The contract is set to run from Oct. 6, 2025 to June 29, 2028. The contract will also have a two-year renewal option. It is funded by the operating budget of individual departments.
