Youth ages 11–22 are invited to the inaugural Mesa West Rotary Life Skills & Beyond event in Mesa.
It is 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Benedictine University Mesa, 225 E. Main St.
The free, hands-on experience is packed with practical skills and confidence-building workshops that schools don’t teach but life demands, according to a release.
Get ready for sessions like Pop the Hood (car maintenance), Street Smarts (self-defense) and Boss Mode (business basics), plus cooking, gardening, CPR and more. The interactive workshops will help participants master everyday essentials and set them up for success in life and career.
Breakfast, snacks and lunch are provided, and if participants complete four workshops, they will be entered into a raffle for prizes.
“We’re not just teaching skills — we’re unlocking potential,” Kayla Mudge, president of Mesa West Rotary, said in the release. “Our motto is ‘Transform Communities, Create Opportunities, Impact Youth,’ and this event brings that to life. We’re giving young people the confidence and know-how to thrive in the real world—while making it an unforgettable, action-packed day of learning and fun.”
