Kiwanis Club of Litchfield to host community baby shower in Surprise

The Kiwanis Club of Litchfield partnered with local community organizations to host its Second Annual Community Baby Shower, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Surprise Resource Center, Bldg. A, 12425 W. Bell Road, Surprise.

The event connects expecting mothers, new parents and growing families with baby supplies, maternal health resources, and supportive community services across the West Valley.

Registered attendees will receive complimentary baby items, educational materials, and access to local family resource providers.

“Our goal is to ensure every expanding family in our community feels supported, cared for, and equipped with the essential resources they need,” stated Kiwanis Club of Litchfield President Erica Stephens.

Community partners include First Things First, Child and Family Resources, WIC, New Life Center, University of Arizona - Roosevelt Early Childhood Family Resource Center and Chicanos Por La Causa.

From the city of Surprise to the AZ Community Impact, many organizations and individuals are credited for supporting community initiatives. Also, the Family & Friends Foundation has provided gear for families, including high chairs, strollers, baby bathtubs, and more.

Student members, ages 18-26 from local Key Clubs and Kiwanis Voices of the West Valley, will assist with event setup, breakdown, and provide childcare for older siblings during the shower.

Community members, volunteers, and local organizations interested in participating, donating, or learning more should contact the Kiwanis Club of Litchfield.

The Kiwanis Club of Litchfield is an 86-year-old nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children and families in the West Valley through hands-on service projects, youth leadership development, and community partnerships.
