Volunteer, former student, teacher winning GPS board seats

A longtime district volunteer, a former district student and a teacher appear to be winning the Gilbert Public Schools governing board’s three open seats.

Blake Robison, an orthodontist who has served on the district’s master capital planning committee, easily won election in the voting with 44,412 votes and 22.3%. The count is from the Nov. 11 release from the Maricopa County Elections Department.

Former GPS student Jesse Brainard had a slim hold on second place at 35,158 votes, 17.65%. Brainard tried to run in 2022 but was forced off the ballot in a signature challenge.
