Torgeson launches 2028 campaign for Gilbert mayor

Gilbert Councilmember Jim Torgeson is getting an early start on the 2028 election, filing paperwork this week to run for mayor.

Torgeson filed a committee statement of organization with the state of Arizona July 28 for Torgeson for Mayor, more than two years before voters will choose the town’s next mayor.

Torgeson confirmed his plans in a July 31 interview, saying he believes Gilbert will need experienced leadership after a new council takes office in January.
