Phoenix Film Festival celebrates 25 years in Scottsdale

Festival to feature first animated centerpiece film

Since 2001, the Phoenix Film Festival has brought the Valley an annual celebration of local and international films, being named one of “The 25 Coolest Film Festivals” and “Top 50 Worth the Entry Fee” festivals by “MovieMaker Magazine.”

Now celebrating 25 years, the 11-day festival set March 27 through April 6 at Harkins Scottsdale 101 will showcase new and seasoned independent film screenings alongside a variety of educational events and workshops, all of which celebrate the art of independent filmmaking.

Kicking off the opening weekend is “Waltzing with Brando,” an American biographical drama about the movie star Marlon Brando who, while pursuing his passion for acting, commissions the architect Bernard Judge to design an eco-friendly paradise on a private island in Tahiti.
