HD South will host a program on the history of Arizona’s railroads from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 1 at its Gilbert location, 10 S. Gilbert Road.
Historian David Doiron will discuss the development of Arizona’s railway system using historical photographs, maps and artifacts. Attendees also will have an opportunity to examine railroad-related relics, including a piece of rail connected to the Golden Spike ceremony at Promontory, Utah.
The program is open to participants ages 14 and older. Registration is required.
