Hale Centre Theatre to stage 'Catch Me If You Can'

Posted

Hale Centre Theatre is scheduled to present the musical comedy "Catch Me If You Can" from Aug. 21 through Oct. 3 at its Gilbert venue.

Based on the film directed by Steven Spielberg, the production follows Frank Abagnale Jr., a con artist who assumes multiple identities while attempting to stay ahead of federal authorities. The story chronicles his exploits as he poses as a pilot, doctor and lawyer while being pursued by the FBI.

The musical features a 1960s-inspired score and centers on the ongoing pursuit between Abagnale and the investigator determined to apprehend him. The production is expected to run approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

According to the theater, the show contains mild romantic innuendo, depictions of social drinking and smoking, and themes involving identity fraud. The production is recommended for adults, teenagers and older children.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. with additional 4 p.m. showtimes Saturdays and some Thursdays and Fridays.

Ticket prices are $65 for adults and $42 for youth ages 5 to 17. Children younger than 5 are not permitted to attend.

An American Sign Language-interpreted performance is scheduled for Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Hale Centre Theatre is located at 50 W. Page Ave. in Gilbert.
