Woodstock tribute concert set for August in Gilbert

Gilbert audiences will have a chance to revisit the music of the Woodstock era when Hale Concert Hall presents “A Tribute to Woodstock 1969” from Aug. 14-29.

The concert production will spotlight music associated with artists who helped define the late 1960s, including Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, The Band and Jefferson Airplane. The show is scheduled to feature songs such as “Summertime,” “Ball and Chain,” “I Shall Be Released,” “Feelin’ Alright,” “Tears of Rage” and “Somebody to Love.”

According to Hale Theatre Arizona, the production is designed to capture the spirit and energy of the summer of 1969 through a live concert experience celebrating music connected to the landmark Woodstock festival.

Performances will take place at Hale Concert Hall, located in downtown Gilbert. The venue features in-the-round seating and an intimate concert setting.

The concert's run time is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Ticket prices generally range from about $40 to $47, depending on performance date and seat selection. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. with additional 4 p.m. shows Fridays and Saturdays.
