Posted

The Town of Gilbert will host its annual ¡Viva! A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage on Sept. 25 at Water Tower Plaza.

The free community event is scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature live entertainment, Latin American food vendors, cultural activities and retail booths as part of Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.

Planned entertainment includes performances by Ballet Folklorico Amistad, Mariachi Chapala AZ and Ballet Folklorico La Llorona. The event also will include hands-on activities, crafts and family-friendly games.

Food vendors will offer a variety of Latin American cuisine and refreshments, while retail vendors will showcase artisan goods, artwork and other culturally inspired products.

Town officials said the event is designed to bring residents and visitors together to celebrate Hispanic and Latino cultures and their contributions to the community.

Water Tower Plaza is accessible to strollers, wheelchairs and walkers. Leashed pets will be permitted at the event.

To accommodate event activities, North Ash Street west of Water Tower Plaza will be closed during event hours.

Additional information about the event, vendor opportunities and volunteer opportunities is available through Gilbert Parks and Recreation.
