Gilbert Town Council approves rezoning for Pony Lane development

The Gilbert Town Council has unanimously approved on Tuesday a minor general plan amendment and rezoning request for the Pony Lane project, a residential development on Lindsay Road, south of Galveston, adjacent to South Valley Junior High.

The approval, granted with a 7-0 vote, will change the zoning from Single Family-43 to Single Family-35, allowing for a slight increase in housing density.

The council’s decision includes amending the general plan to increase the allowed density from zero to one dwelling unit per acre to one to two dwelling units per acre.
