The town of Gilbert is seeking applicants for five positions on the Public Works Advisory Board.
Terms are typically three years in length and will begin Aug. 15. The incumbents may choose to reapply.
The Public Works Advisory Board was formed to consider and address the services offered by the Public Works Department and the infrastructure that supports these services under the pillars of services, infrastructure, and sustainability.
With a commitment to delivering projects and programs that enhance quality of life, economic growth, public health and the environment, the board reviews and make recommendations to town council regarding the strategy, approach, and fund planning of initiatives and large-scale infrastructure projects across all divisions of the Public Works Department for the current and future needs of Gilbert.
The town seeks residents interested in and/or experienced with the services, operations, design, and/or construction of infrastructure related to public works and/or experienced with municipal operations and the functions that support the department and offer the services provided by each division.
Candidates would need to be advocates in the community for the department's initiatives and projects.
The positions require that the members must be residents of Gilbert and a qualified elector.
This is a volunteer position with no compensation.
