Gilbert Public Schools has appointed longtime educator Trenton Bender as principal of Boulder Creek Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year.

Governing board members expressed enthusiasm for his leadership and ties to the district.

“I’ll just say, as a Highland Park parent, I’m sad to make that motion (to appoint), but as a board member, it’s my pleasure,” board member Blake Robison said. “Really excited for Boulder Creek and the students and families there.”
