Gilbert Public Schools report shows spending increases

Gilbert Public Schools’ annual financial report for fiscal year 2024-25 showed spending increases in some areas while salaries and benefits shifted to different funding sources.

Finance Director Jackie Mattinen told the Governing Board the unaudited report covered spending from the previous fiscal year and included details on maintenance and operations, unrestricted capital, classroom site funds, average teacher salaries and food services.

Mattinen said revenue for unrestricted maintenance and operations and capital decreased by about $3 million, which the district had anticipated.
