Gilbert Public Schools reports midyear academic gains across grade levels

Gilbert Public Schools leaders say midyear data show steady academic growth across grade levels, with improvements in early literacy, math proficiency and Advanced Placement participation districtwide.

Assistant Superintendent Jared Ryan, Director of Elementary Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Robert Bircher and Director of Secondary Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Krista Cox presented the district’s midyear academic review during the Feb. 12 governing board meeting, highlighting comparative December-to-December data across recent fiscal years .

The review followed a seven-hour district continuous improvement planning session involving 30 to 40 certified staff members, including instructional coaches, principals and specialists.
