Trees must be real, unbagged and free of decorations, lights, hooks and tree stands. Artificial trees will not be accepted.

Drop-off locations and hours

  • Gilbert Regional Park — 3005 E. Queen Creek Road, southeast corner of Queen Creek and Higley.

  • Freestone Park — 1045 E. Juniper Ave., overflow parking lot west of the tennis courts. Trees can be dropped off daily from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at both parks from Dec. 25 through Jan. 14.

  • Sunbelt Rentals — 1313 E. Baseline Road. Trees can be dropped off Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Dec. 26 through Jan. 7. The facility is closed Sundays.

Gilbert has partnered with the Arizona Game and Fish Department to repurpose donated trees as fish habitats in Apache Lake. The town aims to collect 600 trees, which will be tied to cinder blocks and placed in the lake to improve aquatic ecosystems.

Additionally, 25 trees will be donated to Goats With Horns Animal Sanctuary to provide food for goats.
