The Gilbert Public Schools and Higley Unified School District governing boards will meet Tuesday night to consider their fiscal year 2025-26 budgets.
Higley USD has been doing projections to the governing board throughout the spring semester that resulted in previous preliminary approvals, but now the board must do the formal approvals, due to the state by July 5.
The board approved a $116.65 million tentative maintenance and operations budget March 4, which is $9.71 million less than the current year’s budget as revised in May. The maintenance and operations budget covers the day-to-day operations of a district, including most salaries.
