Gilbert Economic Development Director Dan Henderson reflects on move to Glendale, legacy he leaves behind

After nearly 20 years shaping Gilbert’s economic development strategy, Dan Henderson says his decision to leave for the same role in Glendale comes down to timing, opportunity and a new kind of challenge.

“Certainly after nearly two decades in Gilbert, it was the right moment to take on a new challenge where I could continue to further my experience with a community that has tremendous momentum and I'm really excited about it,” Henderson said.

Henderson will remain with Gilbert through the end of April before transitioning to Glendale, where he will work under City Manager Patrick Banger, a leader he previously worked with for more than a decade. Banger left Gilbert and started with Glendale in January.
