With local food banks and pantries struggling to meet demand. the town of Gilbert is sponsoring the Gilbert Feeding Families Food Drive & Restaurant Weekend, a community-wide effort to to replenish supplies and provide essential support to those in need.

The drive started Monday, Feb. 10 and will continue through Sunday, Feb. 23. Residents can support the cause in multiple ways:

• Donate non-perishable food: Drop off non-perishable, non-expired food items at designated locations across Gilbert. Every donation helps stock local food pantries.
• Give financially: Every $1 donated provides 5 meals or $30 worth of food for local families.
• Dine and donate (Feb. 21–23): Enjoy a meal at participating restaurants during Gilbert’s Feeding Families Restaurant Weekend, and a portion of the bill will go directly toward feeding those in need. Premier partners include Spinato’s Pizza and Prep & Pastry, with more restaurants joining the effort. Diners are advised to check individual restaurant websites for additional participants.
