Elementary options include cluster models and dedicated classrooms for fourth through sixth grades, as well as the Gifted Academy at Towne Meadows Elementary.
The academy serves students in third through sixth grade with project-based lessons and enrichment activities tailored to advanced learners. Teachers incorporate hands-on projects and thematic lessons, and parent-led initiatives such as the Gifted Parent Council help foster community.
Students can continue in the Gifted Academy at Highland Junior High for grades seven and eight.
The program offers a small cohort for core subjects taught by gifted-endorsed teachers, while students remain part of the larger school community for electives and activities. Enrichment opportunities include Socratic seminars, clubs and hands-on projects.
Both academies emphasize individualized learning and smooth transitions between grade levels. A gifted coach supports students moving from elementary to junior high, and parents play an active role through councils and events.
