The Chandler International Film Festival will expand into Gilbert in 2026, bringing international films, filmmakers and related events to the town as part of the festival’s 10th anniversary.
The Gilbert portion of the festival will be held at the Regal Theatre, 1012 S. Gilbert Road, Gilbert, marking the first time the long-running festival has hosted screenings in the community. While the festival is also expanding into Tempe, organizers said Gilbert has been a goal for several years.
“Actually, we were talking a couple of years ago to Brigette (Peterson), the former mayor,” said Betty Ramirez, vice president of the Chandler International Film Festival. “We were talking to her to do a festival in Gilbert, but unfortunately nothing kind of was coming in place.”
