Acoustic Eidolon, a duo that features Hannah Alkire on cello and Joe Scott on double-neck "guitjo," will come to the Higley Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, Jan. 13, for a 7 p.m. performance.
The duo, which played the Higley Center last March, play "new acoustic" music that features a blend of Celtic, Americana, World & Flamenco music.
Scott's "guitjo" is an instrument of his own design that once was called by USA Today a “beautiful harp-like sounding instrument … like nothing we’ve ever heard before.”
The two happened to live on the same street in Boulder, Colorado, when they first played together by chance in 1995. In 1998, between musical engagements, they formed Acoustic Eidolon and then by 2001, they were married.
Tickets are $29-$35. Members receive a $4 discount. 480-279-7194. http://www.higleycenter.org
