Cox Communications announced the recipients of this year’s Cox Diversity Scholarships, with each student receiving $3,500 toward higher education.

Two of the 10 awardees are recent Chandler BASIS graduates.

Sarina Roy-Moder will attend Arizona State University, studying chemical engineering.

Vincent Nguyen will attend the University of Arizona, studying biomedical science and philosophy.

The Cox Diversity Scholarship recipients were recognized during “Cox Day at the Ballpark” with an infield pre-game moment at Chase Field in Phoenix on July 13, just before an Arizona Diamondbacks home game.

The competitive scholarships require applicants be on-track for graduation with a minimum 2.5 GPA, provide demonstrated leadership and community service and submit an essay focused on a significant leader from their respective diverse community.

Since 2021, according to a news release, Cox has awarded $140,000 in Diversity Scholarships to students in Arizona in partnership with Be a Leader Foundation, Sunnyside Educational Foundation, and Valle Del Sol.
