Bridge over Loop 101 in Tempe to close beginning March 11

Posted

The Victory Drive crossing over Loop 101 in Tempe will be closed for approximately five weeks starting Monday, March 11, for bridge maintenance.

Drivers who normally use the Victory Drive bridge should use detour routes, including University Drive and Apache Boulevard, to travel over Loop 101, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Drivers also can use the Loop 101 Price frontage roads between University Drive and Apache Boulevard, ADOT officials said.

The frontage roads near Victory Drive will be narrowed to one lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays while crews improve the bridge approaches at the overpass.

ADOT officials said drivers should stay alert, slow down and watch for crews and equipment when approaching and traveling through work zones.

The Valley Metro bus route along Victory Drive/Orange Street will use detours. However, no bus stops are scheduled to be affected. Bus riders should plan for minor schedule changes
