Western Maricopa Education Center recently hosted its annual Auto Skills Challenge, bringing together first- and second-year automotive technology students for a hands-on competition designed to reflect real-world industry expectations.
Top-performing students earned tool packages and prizes made possible through strong industry support. First through third place winners in both program levels split more than $10,000 in tools and prizes, demonstrating investment in the next generation of automotive professionals. Every student walked away with a goodie bag and T-shirt.
West-MEC's year one winners included Ethan Fisher (first), Aiden Mohns (second) and Jack Haug (third). Year two winners were Yousef Yousef (first), Bernadino Rivera (second) and Gunner Hutton (third).
