Suspect arrested for shooting man in Surprise

Surprise Police said a person is in custody for allegedly shooting a man in a residential area near Grand Avenue and Greenway Road.

Authorities were called to the home just before 5 p.m. Monday, June 16 after receiving reports of shots fired.

Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound, and he was taken to a hospital. His condition was not immediately released.

Police have not released the name of the person in custody.

No other injuries were reported in the incident, and police said there is no threat to the surrounding area.

Surprise Police wrote on its Facebook page that it is still in the early stages of the investigation and has no further information.
