Target has officially opened its doors on a second store in Surprise.

The retail giant welcomed guests for the first time April 13 at its store at 14101 N. Prasada Parkway in Prasada North.

This store is about 151,000 square feet and is expected to employ approximately 200 team members.

It features 16,000 square feet of fresh produce, meat and dairy, as well as everyday essentials and pantry staples.

The store also has the popular Disney Store at Target shop-in-shop, a Starbucks Café and a CVS pharmacy.

Store Director Kolt McKinney led the ribbon cutting with the city at a Very Important Guest event on April 8.

Target District Senior Director Paul McGee and Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell were also in attendance.

A host of city officials also helped cut the ribbon. It included Mayor Kevin Sartor, Councilmembers Earle Greenberg, Patrick Duffy and Chris Judd and Police Chief Benny Pina.
