The Surprise Parks and Recreation Department and Surprise Youth Council are planning another Surprise Teen Summit in February.
The one-day summit is a youth‑led and staff‑supported experience designed to prepare high school students for success after graduation.
Participants take part in interactive sessions on leadership, college and career readiness and personal growth. The summit also connects teens with mentors and resources.
Approximately 300 high school students are expected for interactive workshops, empowering keynotes and hands‑on activities on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Surprise City Hall and Ottawa University-Arizona.
Information will be sent to each Surprise high school, and registration for participants will open early in the new year.
Local professionals, educators and community leaders will lead the summit. The city is actively seeking presenters and practitioners who can deliver teen-focused sessions on the following topics:
Public speaking
Welcome to the workforce/career readiness
Networking
Resume building
Social media presence and digital citizenship
Personal development
College preparation
Time management and stress management for teens
Interested presenters and speakers should email Shelby Fenwick at shelby.fenwick@surpriseaz.gov with a brief bio, proposed session title/description and any AV needs.
The city is also offering sponsorship opportunities to local businesses and community partners.
Sponsors will receive on‑site recognition with signage throughout the event, acknowledgment during public address announcements, brand visibility through giveaways and swag. Also contact Fenwick for sponsorships.
