Be informed on Dysart Schools’ bond and board candidates on Nov. 3 ballot

Besides voting for or against Dysart Unified School District’s Proposition 421, which is a $71.4 million capital-funding bond request, three candidates named on the ballot are running for two governing board seats with four-year terms.

Contenders in the Tuesday, Nov. 3, general election are William Coniam, incumbent Dawn Densmore and Lisa Everett. All with a desire to join the five-member DUSD Governing Board, the candidates are vying for the seats currently occupied by Jennifer Drake, whose term expires next year, and Densmore, who was elected to serve two terms from 2018-2027.

While Densmore has been seated alongside current board members, Coniam and Everett have been sitting in the audience at the board meetings. Coniam blends in with attendees as Everett has been outspoken during public comments to challenge and hold the present board accountable for its decisions and actions.
