DUSD broadcasting students add ‘Drive for Excellence’ to credits

From the classroom to a local car dealership’s showroom, and on the sidelines of football fields, more than 100 Dysart Unified School District students use their broadcasting knowledge and skills in various settings to produce award-winning videos and shows while pursuing their education.

The Dysart Student Broadcasting (DSB Live) participants produce “Toyota Game Day” on site at Toyota of Surprise, 13543 N. Autoshow Ave., highlighting each high school’s football games, featuring students, sports teams and groups including the marching band, cheer and pom, etc.

Toyota of Surprise has partnered with the district so DSB Live can present, “Drive for Excellence,” spotlighting Dysart High School, Valley Vista High School, Shadow Ridge High School and Willow Canyon High School games. Students produce the entire show, including setup, making graphics, running commercials, operating the camera, hosting on-camera interviews, livestreaming and post-production work.
