Weather impacts revenue on the golf courses

Summer heat pushes rounds down by 6%

Despite the recent rainfall in Sun City West Recreation Centers, Environmental Services Manager Todd Patty said the water remained on throughout the seven courses owned by the association.

Patty said the program on the watering system will shut off when certain set rainfall totals are hit. Golf officials can use a phone application feature to shut off the water from there on some courses or physically turn it off.

“We watch the weather closely and if we know we are going to get a lot of rain, we certainly do not want to water for no reason,” said Patty.
