Sun City West pickleball tournament raises $53,000 for local charities

Posted

The 2024 Sun City West Fun in the Sun pickleball tournament and All for Charity event was March 5-7. Prime Wealth Advisors were title sponsors while Eileen Freydberg, HomeSmart Realty and other local vendors also helped sponsor the event.

Participation increased this year with 496 players registering, a jump from 2023 when less than 400 signed up. Players represented 29 states and seven Canadian provinces. The oldest participant was 81, a Sun City West resident. Rain on March 7 resulted in an abrupt end to women’s doubles around 12:30 p.m.

Eileen Freydberg and John Click were co-tournament directors and Teresa Brown directed the All For Charity fundraiser, which collected more than $53,000 for seven local charities.
