Members of the United States Secret Service, Phoenix field office, traveled to Youngtown for a cyberscams awareness presentation and members of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District three staff also took part.
Special agent in charge William Mack provided information to residents from throughout District three, including the Sun Cities. Youngtown Town Manager Jeanne Blackman said regional cooperation is needed from surrounding communities to work together to keep residents safe.
“Our focus when it comes to the cyber mission is the criminal element of benefiting themselves for financial gain and almost always from an overseas location,” said Mack.
