Meet Sun City West Mac-Cro-Knit President Connie Ottemann.
- How long have you been a member of the Mac-Cro-Knit? Summer of 2023
- Do you crochet, knit or loom knit? Crochet, loom knit and sewing. I make friendship bags, shawls, bibs/burb rags and receiving blankets.
- How long have you been club president? Almost one year.
- What do you enjoy most about being club president? Getting to know members of the club.
- Who taught you to crochet? My mom taught me how to crochet when I was in the 4th grade. I crocheted while involved in Bluebird Troop Girl Scouts.
- Do you have a favorite project that you’ve completed? My Christmas tree skirt and the two afghans I crocheted for my sons.
- How does it feel to donate handmade items? Wonderful!
- How did you hear about the club? I’ve known about the club for many years. Just didn’t know what it was called or where it met.
- What makes Mac-Cro-Knit special? Friendships that have led to other clubs and more friendships.
Mac-Cro-Knit meets from 8-10 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday in Pueblo Room #3 at the Kuentz Recreation Center, 14401 R. H Johnson Blvd.
New members of all skill levels are always welcome.
