The first general meeting of the American Association of University Women – West Valley Branch was Sept. 17, led by presidents Sharon Phelps (2019-2020) and Sharon Lee Astle (2020-2021).
This meeting was a hybrid gathering via Zoom (led by Sara Schmitt, technical support), with about 15 transition team members located in Briarwood Country Club patio room, viewing on a big screen handled by Suzanne James, president-elect.
The screen shows program presenter Melissa Deluzio's screens for "Building a Resilient Immune System."
The gathering included the wearing of masks, the keeping of safe distances and a sanitation dispenser required as one enters with mask.
The ceramic carousel horse was donated by Melva Hull, treasurer for the group’s silent auction fundraiser pamphlet. Individuals can purchase items shown in the pamphlet, which will be distributed and posted online with purchase and pickup instructions.
The group is also hosting a Trunk of Treats Halloween rummage sale fundraiser Oct. 28-31.
