Sun City residents rise in opposition

Want RCSC to return to what it used to be

Some Sun City residents are angry and frustrated at what they see as a fundamental change in the way the Recreation Centers of Sun City Board of Directors is steering the corporation.

About 50 residents attended the Sept. 13 board meeting, which was ended abruptly without addressing a full agenda, to express their concerns about what is happening. Board President Sue Wilson ended the meeting after swearing in Gene Westermeier to fill a seat vacated by Karen McAdam when the board terminated her service in a June 25 secret meeting.

RCSC General Manager Bill Cook tried to keep the signs out of the auditorium as people were coming in and Wilson had warned residents prior to the meeting’s start that the meeting would not go on as long as they continued to hold up signs expressing their feelings.
